Remaining Ruby & Rails Conferences in 09
Posted by Gregg Pollack July 18, 2009 @ 04:27 AM
The Ruby and Rails community is still growing strong and the sheer number of conferences coming up is proof of that. Below I’ve put together a list of all the conferences/events I could find before 2010 so you can hopefully make it out to at least one. ;-)
If you do attend one of these conferences, do me a favor and thank the organizer for taking the time to produce the event. Most of them spend a great deal of unpaid time making the event happen and most of them aren’t making a profit. Their passion and hard work helps keep our community strong.

Let me know if I forgot any events, I’ll be happy to add them to this list.

Check that link to RubyRx. I think it should be http://www.nfjsone.com/conference/raleigh/2009/02/home
I’m missing Rails-Konferenz in Germany/Frankfurt-Offenbach, Sep 1.-2. Price: EUR 287
http://rails-konferenz.de/
Don’t forget http://curucamp.org/. Though, it’s about Ruby and not Rails. But I can see Ruby Conferences in your list, too.
Another one left off the list is a Chinese Rails conference called Kungfu Rails. It will be on October 24th. We have secured several sponsors and a couple of good speakers and there should be more information forthcoming.
George: The link you posted was for an event that happened in February a few months ago.
Richard: I’ve added the event, thanks for the heads up.
Urban: The curucamp website looks like it’s down. I’ll check back later.
Scott: I’m unable to find your website, could you give me a url?
Ruby World in Japan:

I was just starting a similar post for Ruby Inside – no point now, lol!! :) Nice work!
August 29 – RS on Rails

Porto Alegre, Brazil Cost R$50
You forgoto to mention Conferencia Rails 2009 http://www.conferenciarails.org , to be held at the end of November at Madrid, Spain, for 4th consecutive year! (and organized in part by the same successful team from EuRuKo 2008 Barcelona)!
Just a point of clarification: RubyRx is not in DC, it is near DC—20 miles away, in Reston, Va. If you plan on attending, you want to fly in and out of Dulles and probably don’t want to get a downtown hotel.
Also not in the list: ArrrrCamp Ghent – About Ruby, Rails, Radiant and Rum. Takes place in Europe – Belgium – Ghent, attendance is free, but places are limited. http://arrrrcamp.com
It’s actually http://arrrrcamp.be , my mistake!
Okay, I think I’ve added all that were mentioned here in the comments into the post. Phew, that was a lot.
I am surprised there isn’t one in LA or OC. SF is such a drive! Oh well maybe next time.
this would be excellent as a public gcal, with location visible in month view; has anyone already done that? Would help me find confs that fit my travel schedule and availability.
And not a single event in Scandinavia! That’s a pity.
Great job Gregg! Thanks!
A agree with Dave, a gcal would be simply fantastic!
Great job thanks!!
Kungfurails site has been opened.
Coming to Shanghai in the best season of Shanghai crab!!

We are looking for participants and sponsors!!
