Rails 2.1 release candidate is imminent!

Threat level orange, guys! The release candidate for Rails 2.1 is drawing awfully close, so if you’ve been sitting on a patch that just must make it in now is the time to rise hell or high water to make it so. Once we cut the release candidate, we’ll be loathe to introduce anything but bug fixes to the features already there.
So get in your saddle, cowboy, and make that patch happen. Remember that the party has moved to Github and Lighthouse. Giddiyap!

Yeehaw!
Finally!
is there any site/review/something which show the main changes? just to don’t read all the tickets…
Best way to quickly catch up is to check the “Living on the edge” articles here:
http://blog.codefront.net/category/ruby-on-rails/
Which also make it into the Rails Envy podcasts which is where I found it from. http://www.railsenvy.com/
No no no… not threat level orange, threat level midnight! Agent Michael Scarn!!! (Anyone? Anyone?...)
In English there is:
- Redemtion in a Blog: http://blog.codefront.net/ - Ryan’s Scraps: http://ryandaigle.com/
In Portuguese there is:
- Nome do Jogo: http://www.nomedojogo.com
I am really looking forward :-) by the way +1 for that: http://www.rubyinside.com/rails-on-rack-872.html
@Rafael: That branch will hit edge after 2.1 is out the door. So the easiest way to help out is to upgrade any applications you have to the current edge rails, and report any / all breakage.
Will do – I’ve just created a ticket for a new feature proposal at http://rails.lighthouseapp.com/projects/8994/tickets/71-add-change_table-to-core based on a fork of rails at github.
Are patches easier to incorporate than pull requests? I’d imagine that now that github is here patches would become less necessary.
I can’t wait, more juicy Rails-ness to sink my teeth into!
...and the promised zip version is still broken, featuring 0-length file:
http://dev.rubyonrails.org/archives/rails_edge.zip
Maybe a “how to” on making patches with git would be handy to encourage contributions.
@Steve: Michael Ivey has a great article on creating patches with Git and Lighthouse:
http://gweezlebur.com/2008/2/1/so-you-want-to-contribute-to-merb-core-part-1
Can’t wait. Yeah!
