Down to the last 100-something RailsConf seats

RailsConf has been racing towards a sell-out and is now almost there. We’re down to our last 100-something seats out of the 1200 being offered. So if you’re still waiting for boss approval on the expenditure or want to see how close you can get to having seat #1200, I’d start thinking about chickening out and secure that seat.
We’re going to have a party come May.

Have fun at that party. Before you go, could you install one of those paginator thingies on the front page of this blog? It’d make going through older posts much easier.
You have our gratitude.
The price is a bit steep. Does anyone want to hold an unconference in the bay area that same time period?
I have no doubt RailsConf is going to sell out. But I find it strange that there has been such a hard sell on it. It is almost as if there is some reward for selling it out quickly.
Just last week Pragmatic Studio alumnus were given a discount code to use on the already discounted early registration price. I was shocked that incentives would be offered for a conference that everybody expects to sell out anyway.
On Feb. 2, we were advised to skip reading the blog and go straight to the registration form to ensure getting a seat. Three days after that, we were warned that there was a good chance it would be sold out by the end of the week. A week after that there were still more than a quarter of the seats available. An now, this. Relax, it will sell out without all the hype.
And yes, I’m just jealous that I can’t go :-)
I personally appreciate the updates, knowing how much seats / time is possibly left to get in on the Conf. I’ve had to wait to see if funds are available, and travel time is available – so its nice to see these updates. I don’t consider them hype.
Wouldn’t you consider the Pragmatic discount an amazingly nice gesture, rather than being greedy and knowing that the conference will sell out at max price?
Thanks for the updates guys!
No… I don’t have split personality, this really is a different Ryan :-)
No doubt that the discount is a nice gesture… I just don’t get it from a business perspective if indeed sell out is so inevitable.
I, too, was under the impression that it would sell out within seconds. Apparently there was no rush afterall.
Maybe Rails conferences will end up in the “where are they now file” along with Spinal Tap.
I wonder, are there two different Luis Felipe Hurtado Campuzanos?
Mike,
If you read Spanish you would know that, unlike the Ryans above, it is the same Luis Felipe Hurtado Campuzano, and he posted twice because the (leave url/email) link and the ‘Your blog’ field does not actually leave your blog linked anywhere in the comment… Is there a bug on the Riding Rails blog?!? So he commented again with the blog URL.
:)
thanks. keep up the good work!
Not to further cloud the comments with blog issues, but could you remove the “search is working now…” text under the search box? Every time I see it, I feel like there’s an apology being made for Mephisto, and, through that, Rails, which isn’t something that should be on the Rails evangelism blog.
What makes you think we’re different Ryans?
SHUT UP, RYAN!
