RailsConf '07 opens for registration

Come May 17th, the Oregon Convention Center in Portland will host the second annual RailsConf and if you want to be there, you better get your registration in early. Last year the 600 seats were gone in a week and change.
We’ve doubled capacity this year, but the growth of Rails has shot up even faster than that. So if you want to be sure not to miss out, I’d advise you skip reading the rest of this introduction and jump straight to the registration form.
This year we’ve teamed up with O’Reilly to produce the conference, which means that silly-nilly details like which sessions will be available are actually ready for you to peruse before signing up. This goes for the new-to-this-year first day of tutorials too. What a luxury treat. And on top of sessions and tutorials, we’ll of course also have a slew of keynotes.
It’s going to be one heck of a show. I can’t wait to see your all there.

Why only 1200 seats? It seems that it could support upwards of 2000.
My guess is it’ll be sold out before Valentines Day.
(Already registered, btw!)
Only if oreilly.com comes back online to handle registration. Good thing there’s a tutorial on scaling…
I’m wondering how many hits the site received right after sending out the announcement email…
A few friends of mine couldn’t even reach the registration pages.
It’s been selling very, very fast. No wonder the registration system is red hot.
What are the “Birds of a Feather” sessions? The website implies that there is an information/sign-up page but doesn’t tell you how to get there.
Don’t worry, if it sells out, they’ll just add more seats like last year. ;)
I think the Birds of a Feather are just informal gatherings where you essentially get a room + equipment from O’Reilly.
What is the official finish time on the Sunday?
I missed RailsConf’06, but not this year !! and I’ve got my registration last nite, it’s simply exciting to see such a big crowd of fellow RoR developers.
I will attend the tutorials, but it seems I can do only 2 (am/pm) – only so many hrs in the day…. Are you guys planning to provide – sell or give away :) – material from the other tutorials ? I would be very interested.
Looking forward to the RailsConf’07 !
From my point of view I am very pleased that this year conference will bring so menu more people together around exchanging ideas and enthusiasm.
It would be nice if some kind of participation could be achieved even for us witch are unable to attend from various reasons.
