It seemed to have slipped all of our minds, but yesterday, the 25th of July marks the 2 year anniversary of Rails’ release.
Here’s David’s announcement email to the ruby-talk mailing list.
Cheers to you early adopters.

Happy birthday Rails!

Happy birthday dear Rails
Amazing that you guys have achieved so much in just two years. Kudos!
I can’t emphasize enough what Rails has done for my life. A truly wonderful invention which keeps getting better and better.
Happy Birthday RoR.. make be better in the next year :D
I remember emailing everyone I knew when I first discovered rails… telling them about how awesome it was.
Now a handful of slashdot mentions, recognition by IBM, Apple AND Google… ahh
It’s just so great that the world has embraced the elegance of ruby thru rails.
Happy Birthday!
I’ve met Ruby on Rails the first time in november 2005, but I didn’t give it a try. Thought : what’s the hell ! Another framework ! In Ruby…. I tried my first app in february, I was “sur le cul” as we say in french. I’m happy of what I do now with Rails, and will never go back to PHP. Rails : Happy birthday ! Longue vie à Toi !
